Description

What began as a casual admiration for Sabrina Carpenter’s effortless style turned into a stylised portrait, entirely sketched by hand using watercolour and pencil. This piece captures Bhairavi’s love for fluid lines and textured storytelling, blending her illustration skills with a subtle nod to pop-culture muses.

The concept was to interpret Sabrina’s fashion essence through soft but defined strokes — echoing vintage magazine fashion sketches with a 2020s twist. It sits at the intersection of editorial fantasy and everyday cool-girl energy. Through this, I explored how celebrity style can be translated into expressive illustration while keeping it uniquely “her”.

Conclusion

This project reflects Bhairavi’s ongoing fascination with personality-driven fashion. It reinforces her belief that an illustration should capture not just the likeness, but the vibe — the unspoken narrative behind a person’s presence.

For Bhairavi, this piece stands as one of the first steps in finding her “portrait voice,” one that continues to evolve as she sketches musicians, designers, and icons that inspire her.
